At the Exchange Club Family Center, AmeriCorps members work
within Project TLC: To Love a Child. Members educate Shelby
County residents about child abuse, child neglect, and family
violence while assisting families who either suffer from or show a
risk for abuse and neglect.
AmeriCorps members can participate on a full-time or part-time basis. (Full-time members commit a minimum of 40 hours per week and receive a $11,400 living allowance plus a $4,725 educational award. Part-time members commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week and earn an educational award of $2,362.) For more information please call Program Director Carol Russell at 276-2200 ext 103.
"I have worked in Project TLC: To Love A Child this year. It is because of their support and encouragement that I have had the opportunity to be involved in all of the different programs and have learned so much."
