The Exchange Club Family Center Announces Mediation Program

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – May 19, 2009 – The Exchange Club Family Center, an area non-profit organization dedicated to ending the cycle of child abuse, has added a new Family Mediation Services program which provides an opportunity for families to maintain control over the decision-making process regarding divorce and custody issues. This mediation service is a natural progression for the Center’s existing divorce program roster, which includes Transparenting for divorcing parents, and Rollercoasters for children of divorce.

“We are excited to provide a new dimension to the existing successful format of Transparenting and Rollercoasters,” states Melissa Farrar, the Center’s Victims’ Services coordinator/counselor. “The program’s goal is to enhance our ability to counsel families in crisis, while minimizing the negative impact that divorce can often have in a child’s life.”

The Center currently has three staff counselors that are trained and licensed mediators. Services are available for divorce, post-divorce, property settlement and custody/visitation cases. For more information about this program, contact Melissa Farrar at 276-2200.
